Topic: Sonar Concepts
Due: Monday, February 5
- As was done in class, draw a diagram showing the response of an ideal
sonar, whose beam width is alpha, to the following objects:
- A box whose front side is perpendicular to the sonar beam, and which
covers beta < alpha of the beam.
- A box whose front side is perpendicular to the sonar beam, and which
covers beta > alpha of the beam.
- A square box whose diagonal is perpendicular to the sonar beam,
and which covers beta < alpha of the beam.
- A square box whose diagonal is perpendicular to the sonar beam, and
which covers beta > alpha of the beam.
- An infinitely long "inside corner" of a room.
In all cases (especially the last one), you can assume that there are no
reflections.
