Old structural organization examples

This page contains examples of structural organization of edge maps into 4 atomic structures which we call dust, curves, flow, and turbulence . The computational process is based on representing the stimulus as a set of points in 4 dimensional space whose axes represent position, orientation and curvature. Then, local dimension measurements (the fractal Minkowski dimension) in this space are used to label each edge element to one of the structural classes. Most of the images in this page are reduced in size (and thus may present some visual artifacts). Click on the images to see full size version of them. Also, please note that the "white" images imply empty sets , that is, if an image of a particular class is empty it means that nothing was classified under the corresponding class.
