MAY AND JUNE, 2003:
New months, new skills, new visitors, new trips!
TimO, Tasi, Breila and TimO's cousin Sean visited us early in May. They're a barrel of laughs; I encourage you to invite them over if you haven't already! We took a trip down to Pennsylvania, stopping along the way to see Kristi, Daddy's friend from high school, along with her husband Chris and sons Tyler and Tanner. I liked them all very much.
Our Bethlehem visit was timed to coincide with both the Wegmans' Food and Wine Expo and the massive thrift sale to benefit the local hospital. It's hard to say which Mama and Nana were more excited about! I liked it because I got to see a bunch of McConnell cousins, as well as PopPop and Auntie Suz. Then, Grampa John and Gramma Fides arrived, so I got to see them again, plus Aunt Rebecca, Uncle Johnny and Uncle Richie too. Whoopee!
Last time I flew on a plane, I went to Texas, where I met John and Dee. They got married in June, and I got to go! We flew again, this time all the way to California! In addition to attending the beautiful wedding, we got to visit Chris and Nisha in LA and Aunt Ferne and Aunt Ann in Pasadena. Everyone was super nice to us and showed us an excellent time. Thank you, everybody!
There were numerous short visits at our house these two months; the Pastors came over, Arwen and Braedon were there, and at the end of June, Hayes cousins celebrated summer birthdays -- mine as well as Seth's and Daniel's -- with a pool party at our house.
On Sunday, May 25th, Mama marched with Cheshire Newcomers' Club in the Memorial Day Parade, and I rode along in the Baby Bjorn. The next day, inspired by all that walking, I took my first steps alone. I'm officially a toddler now!

Other big firsts abounded: I tried ice cream for the first time, went on a merry-go-round, and learned how to give hugs. It's good to be me!

Mayday! Mayday! Baby on the go!	I strike a dramatic pose while checking out the overhead fan.	Daddy and Mama headed to the 4H Camp for an Otherworld workday. My buddy Ab was there!	Two of my favorite people, John and Sheila, live right across the street from me! So convenient!
John always laughs at my jokes, but that's not the only reason I like him.	Slumber party at my house! Breila and I still in our jammies.	TimO's cousin Sean is super nice! Plus, he and I have the same haircut! Stylin'!	As you can see, Breila and I share a lot of common interests!
We are all about sharing.	Well, usually.	Six geese a-laying, five plas-tic rings!	Silly grown-ups are suggesting that Breila not eat this ring.

...and then for another one near the summit.	Near the base of the trail, Breila and I are worn out from all this hiking!	There's nothing like a quick nap to revive you in the middle of a long lunch!	I learned how to climb up onto a box! Mama learned not to leave me alone for a few seconds!
Grampa John and Gramma Fides sent Mama some flowers, and there was a toy floating above them! Happy Day, Mama!	Arwen and Braedon paid us a quick visit! Arwen and Mama went shopping while Braedon and I kept Daddy company at home.	My first time in the pool!	Whew! Tyler moves around even more than me! The only way to snag him for a photo was for Daddy to do a fly-by!

Poor Grampa Lar wasn't feeling well, so he took a nap. I think we'd better wake him us, though.... otherwise we'll never get him to sleep tonight! Cold! This new food is extremely cold! Even for me, this is an Extreme Face.	Resting comfortably after My First Ice Cream Experience.	Hey, can we go out for ice cream again tomorrow? (We did. And that time I loved it!)	On the way to sunny California. Mama makes sure I'm small enough to be classified as a carry-on. Fortunately they didn't have to gate-check me.
Time for a wedding! The beautiful view at the winery.	There's John, the handsome groom, along with the bride's brother.	I don't mind being the second prettiest girl at the party when it's Dee who's upstaging me.	A mid-ceremony snuggle from Daddy.
After the ceremony, the string quartet played two songs just for me! Now that's what I call service!	This is my new friend Ella. She's from Texas; that's why she wears a hat.	Here's Ella and her mama. Her name is Kristi, but she goes by Mama, just like Mama does!	Surely you know who these people are by now. If not, perhaps you should visit a different website.

I'm happy, she's happy, you're happy... everybody's happy!	After the ceremony and wine reception at the vinyard, it was on to Bacara, a beautiful resort, for the dinner reception.	We visited a toy store before leaving Santa Barbara. Yes, Uncle Jeff, I guess this really is the way vikings carry their babies.	Back in LA, Chris and Nisha took us all sorts of cool places. Here we are on the Santa Monica Pier, overlooking what Daddy tells me is a specific ocean.
The water comes in, the water goes out! I love this!	Whee! I am a water baby!	My first ride on a merry-go-round, also on the pier. This carousel was in the movie The Sting. I'm starstruck!	Aunt Ferne is just about the funniest person I ever met. She let me sit on this little chair, which was hers when she was my age. (I guess that means its name is Aunt Eek. Get it? Aunt-eek? I think I'm pretty funny too!)
Aunt Ferne and Aunt Ann took us to the Long Beach Aquarium. It was terrific! I see that it was a great honor to have been called Little Fish.	So much visiting! Good thing Aunt Ferne and Aunt Ann gave Daddy and I a nice soft place to rest!	Back home again, and still loving the water.	Sam shows me how my new toy works.
