JANUARY AND FEBRUARY, 2003:
After my Christmas odyssey, I was ready for a little time at home! I got to spend some quality time with Chris, Tenille, and Merri, all of whom came to Cheshire for Somerville Family Christmas and then stayed a bit longer to play with me.
On January 2, I was officially 1/2 year old! To celebrate, I had my very first solid food! I am particularly fond of oatmeal, pears and peaches.
I made a new friend named Abby who came to visit in January. I spent a good part of the month trying to learn how to crawl... I couldn't really do it yet, but I could scoot backwards and balance on my hands and knees.
At the end of January, Mama and I took our first overnight trip alone! We got to see a bunch of people Mama used to work with at ScanSoft and at Harvard, and then Frank and Jodi let us stay in their very comfy spare room. The following day brought a visit to Breila and Tasi.
Then we were visited by Aunt Sandy and cousin Stephanie, plus Nana and Grampa. They brought me a fluffy teddybear and spent lots of time playing with me. I hope they come again soon!
Suddenly it was February. My hard work paid off -- on 2/11, I crawled for the first time!

We went up to Boston again and went out to China Pearl for some Dim Sum breakfast, yum yum. Back at home, it snowed and snowed and then snowed some more! Fortunately, the weather didn't keep Mike, Arwen and Braedon from visiting us at the end of the month.

we played a card game with Merri	I love to snuggle with Tenille!	Chris is the best because he totally approaches me on my own level	relaxing with Chris and Tenille. I am making the ASL sign for "I love you". Coincidence? I think not.
Before Somerville Family Christmas, I couldn't really sit up by myself. But I watched how Breila does it, and now I'm a pro!	Plus, I'm learning how to multi-task. Notice that I am sitting up and grabbing my chain-toy at the same exact time!	I suppose this was inevitable...	Here I am hanging out with my new friend Abby. She's ten days younger than me. I met her in the parking lot of the Stop & Shop!
Abby's mama's name is Lisa. I told her my mama's name is Mama, which she agreed is easier to remember. Mama and I like them a lot!	Sometimes, I like to play with the little girl who lives in our mirror	She doesn't say much, but she's awfully cute	I tried to give her a hug, but it didn't work very well...
...so I gave her a little kiss instead!	Whee, I'm standing up like a big girl! Granted, a big girl who needs to hang onto a bucket, but still...	Whoa! This whole bucket is full of toys! I'm rich! Breila has such beautiful dark hair...	...so I tried to pull some out, to save as a souvenir of our happy day together...	...but Mama suggested I stick to chewing my fingers.	...and we're off!

It's a small (Other)world after all! We ran into the Nyes at China Pearl. Here're mama and me with big and little Jack.	About two weeks ago, I learned to get up onto my hands and knees. Then, suddenly...	...I realized I could crawl!	Here, I investigate our hallway (or, as Mama calls it, "the most childproof room in the house")
Speaking of Mama, I think I'll head in that direction...	Gotta go get Mama...	Yep, gotta go get Mama...	Whoa! Where are the brakes on this thing?
Yikes, it snowed again! The drifts outside our family room door are almost taller than me!	Daddy doesn't have enough to keep him busy, so he decided to shovel the roof. (Actually, it was leaking.)	World's littlest supermodel	Yet again I have managed to remove my socks! Bwah-ha-ha-ha-ha!
