MARCH & APRIL, 2005:
These two months had way more than their fair share of excitement!

We traveled to Texas, flying first to El Paso so that we could see Uncle Tony, Aunt Suzie and our cousin Adison. Tony was stationed in Korea since shortly after Adison was born and now that they're back in the States, we wanted to see them right away! And since we were already in Texas, it was only a hop, skip and a (big) jump over to Austin to visit Chris & Tenille. They (and their kitties) showed us a terrific time and we were very sad to have to go.

But then it was up to Boston for Otherworld's annual Fortunetide Ball, where we got to spend time with all our friends, including... Chris & Tenille! Long time no see, guys! And since Nana & Blabla were there for Fortunetide, too, it was the perfect opportunity to finally take them to the Chocolate Bar, Cafe Fleuri's all-chocolate buffet. There was no charge for Mirin at the buffet, a financial decision the people at Cafe Fleuri are probably still regretting.

Besides welcoming Adison back to the US, there was more fun with cousins to be had: we traveled to Lancaster for Cheryl's baby shower, we staged a return visit to the Hayes farm so that Mark, Bernadette and Matty could meet the animals, and we hosted the O'Malleys and our de-facto cousin Breila for a weekend. This last one took us to KidCity, a children's museum in Middletown. Fun fun and more fun!

On St. Patrick's Day we gained another new little buddy: John Patrick, aka Baby Jack. Lucky us!

aa-03-04-yoga-whole-room

Phooey! Our beloved yoga teacher Joy is moving away. Here we are at her last class.

ba-03-04-helping-teach

Joy asked me to help her out with teaching the class.

bb-03-04-two-dogs

Hmmm. Joy is doing Downward Dog while I'm doing Upward Dog.

bc-03-04-two-other-dogs

And now Joy is doing Upward Dog while I do Downward Dog. Get with the program here, Joy!

bd-03-04-joy-with-mirin-sophie

Okay, that's more like it. Joy helps Sophie and me with our stretches.

be-03-04-yoga-baby

I am a relaxed little yoga baby!

bf-03-04-us-with-joy

Joy, Mama and us!

bg-03-04-everybody-with-joy

Yoga moms and yoga babies!

bh-03-05-pump

Sometimes I need a break from my babies, so I pump some milk for them to drink while I'm away.

bj-03-06-rowan-sledding-3

It took till March, but I finally got to try sledding. My verdict? Two mittens up!

bk-03-06-happy-sledder

Hours of slippery fun! Well, minutes. It was cold out!

ca-03-08-packpack

And now we're off to Texas! Here I model my brand new "packpack."

cb-03-08-ring-rosie

I hadn't seen my cousin Adison in more than a year! Like all old friends, we lost no time and started catching up, reminiscing and doing Ring Around The Rosie.

cc-03-08-playing-doctor-adison

Step in my office, Adison, and let me check you out.

cd-03-08-get-down

Get down! James Brown wishes he could move like me!

ce-03-08-teaching-jumping

Apparently Auntie Suzie hasn't had time to teach Adison how to jump on the bed. Don't worry, I'll show her!

cf-03-08-moment-of-peace

Whew, I need a moment to rest. The middle of the bed proves to be an Adison-free zone. Babies can wear you out!

da-03-09-were-off

Despite Uncle Tony's navigational escapades, we successfully arrive at the El Paso Zoo.

db-03-09-tigerback-both-2

We did it all! We sat on this tiger statue!

dc-03-09-taking-a-break-mama-rowan

We hung out in the shade of the palm trees!

dd-03-09-tony-adison-2

Adison communed with some prehistoric beastie...

... and she liked it!

df-03-09-zebraback

We rode on the merry-go-round!

... and some sun bears, Rowan's favorite...

eg-03-09-tortoises

...and tortoises...

eh-03-09-turtles

... and turtles -- Adison liked them so much that she said "turtle" for the first time today...

eh-03-09-wolf

... and a wolf, too!

fa-03-09-hanging-out

Wowee! That's a lot of animals!

fb-03-09-lar-monkey

Is it just me, or does this monkey look an awful lot like Grampa Lar?

fc-03-09-worn-out

And then we needed a rest!

fd-03-09-outside-our-door

Nap over, Adison came to our door. Time for more fun!

fe-03-09-three-kids

The three cutest kids west of the Pecos!

Two big kids! I hang out with Uncle Tony.

fh-03-09-who-me

Who, us?

fh-03-10-el-paso

Did you know there were mountains in El Paso? We didn't! There are pretty ones than this, but this one was convenient, so here it is.

ga-03-10-hotel-baby

Here I am, hangin' loose at the El Paso Extended Stay Motel!

I'm working on perfecting this new lunge move. It increases my toy-grabbing radius by 200%!

gc-03-10-golden-corral

And now, off to partake of the culinary delight that is Golden Corral!

gd-03-10-golden-corral-2

Auntie Suz interupts her own dinner to chauffeur me through the buffet. Now that's love!

ge-03-10-good-cupcake

I'll say this about Golden Corral: they make a nice cupcake!

gf-03-10-ride-bellcart

Time to start winding down before bed with a relaxing ride on the luggage cart!

gg-03-10-suz-reading

Storytime! Starting... to... get... sleepy...

gh-03-10-relaxing-2

Hey, don't look at me! I'm totally lounge-enabled!

gi-03-11-tenille-cooking

And now we're in Austin! I help Tenille make pizza.

What'll you have today, Chris and Tenille? The usual?

he-03-12-rowan-museum

Hey, they have stuff for Little Longhorns here too!

hf-03-12-rowan-beanbag

Oh, *yeah*! I can't imagine why we don't have one of these at home!

ib-03-13-with-theles-z-cafe-2

This is how happy good friends and Creme Brulee French Toast can make people!

ic-03-13-green-river

We took a trip down to San Antonio for the day.

id-03-13-green-river-2

Don't adjust your screen: the river really is green, in honor of St. Patrick's Day.

ie-03-13-san-antonio

More St. Patrick's Day fun!

if-03-13-texas-flag

In case you've forgotten, we're still in Texas.

ig-03-13-prickly

Here I am, about to learn an important nature fact.

ih-03-13-outside-alamo

Where did we go next? Oh, I remember! The Alamo!

ij-03-13-nifty-bell-alamo

A cool bell that actually hangs on the Alamo gift shop. Coonskin cap, anyone?

ik-03-13-gelato

Time for a gelato break. I belly up to the bar!

I'm onboard the barge in this picture, not that you can tell. But I look darn cute, so here it is.

in-03-13-mi-tierra

For supper, we went to Mi Tierra. It was sparkly *and* delicious!

io-03-13-mi-tierra-2

Another picture inside Mi Tierra.

ip-03-13-mi-tierra-3

And yet another picture at Mi Tierra.

ja-03-14-jukebox-chris

Chris teaches me how the jukebox works. Buttons to push, flashing lights AND it plays music? Sign me up!

jb-03-14-jukebox-county-line

Mama and I after our yummy barbecue dinner at County Line. Yes, our vacation was basically a trip from one restaurant to the next.

jc-03-14-everybody-county-line

Full of barbecue and lookin' happy!

jd-03-15-maxivan

It's true! Everything really IS bigger in Texas! Our rental was a Ford Fiesta when we started.

ka-03-26-table-chocolate

Years ago, we told Nana we'd take her to Langham Hotel's Chocolate Bar in Boston. Today, that dream becomes a reality.

kb-03-26-table-buffet

This was a really cool shot of decadent desserts before these two weenies got in the way. Ah well.

kc-03-26-whole-chocolate-family

Our family experiences pre-consumption bliss.

kd-03-26-mirin-nana

Nana and I were pretty sweet already. But a whole meal of chocolate didn't hurt either.

ke-03-26-plates

Our Chocolate Bar visit took place the day before Easter. This is an annual tradition in our family, right, Daddy?

kf-03-26-mirin-buffet

Oh yeah, that's good.

kg-03-26-easter-bunny

This day really couldn't get any more fabulous unless... Oh my goodness!!

And now, the thing that brought us to Boston in the first place... Otherworld's Fortunetide Ball! Don't we look snazzy?

lb-03-26-us-christine-fortunetide

Hanging out with our good friend Christine, also no slouch in the snazz department.

lc-03-26-nifty-stuff

There was all sorts of nifty stuff to bid on at the Fortunetide silent auction.

ld-03-26-nifty-stuff-2

More neato auction items.

ma-04-01-egghunt

The Easter Bunny considerately visited Nana's house a week late so that we could hunt for eggs when we were visiting.

mb-04-01-egghunt-2

No time to talk. Must find more candy.

mc-04-01-egghunt-rowan

Huh. It looks like an egg, but it's bright blue. And it's outside in Nana's yard. What's up with that?

md-04-01-egghunt-rowan-2

Did you guys see this here? Wierd, huh?

me-04-02-go-sox

It's possible that there's a cuter little Sox fan out there. But it doesn't seem likely.

mf-04-02-mirin-buck

Buck positively radiates delight every time we visit.

na-04-02-mcconnells

Cousin Cheryl is having a baby, and Auntie Sandy and Cousin Steph need us to help her shower. Woohoo! We love bathtime!

nb-04-02-viewing-the-cake

The cake is presented for my approval. Very nice, ladies; you may begin slicing.

nc-04-02-eating-the-cake-2

Oh yeah, that's good cake!

nd-04-02-refreshments

I make my getaway from the refreshment table, but not before making off with plenty of tasty loot!

ne-04-02-mirin-steph

I pause for a little snuggle with Steph.

nf-04-02-mirin-steph-card

Giving Steph the card I made for her.

ng-04-02-nana-clothesline

Nana got Cheryl all sorts of cool clothes and attached them to this little clothesline. She's a savvy one, that Nana!

nh-04-02-party-boys-2

Cheryl's party had mostly girls in attendance. That's just the way Daddy and I like it!

ni-04-02-rowan-steph

Going for a walk with a little help from Steph.

nj-04-02-in-the-corner

Doesn't it look like a really fun party?!? No, seriously, I was playing Hide 'n' Seek, not being punished.

Ladies, please! There's enough of me to go around!

nm-04-02-precious-cargo

pc-04-16-mirin-sam

A quiet moment with my cousin Sam.

pd-04-16-mirin-kids

pe-04-16-ellen-rowan

The cousins' dog Maddie likes to drool as much as I do!

pf-04-16-mattie-tractor

I got a sippy cup of my very own! I'm king of the world!

rt-04-23-kidcity-mirin-rowan

sa-04-23-tub-3

Rub-a-dub-dub, three kids in the tub!
