This is an administrative assignment, which means that you won't be graded on it. However, if you don't complete it, you won't be able to do any of the other assignments.
As soon as possible, please do all of the following:
Sign up for an account in the Zoo if you don't have one already. You can sign up using this form. Though it is possible to obtain, complete, and submit all assignments without using the Zoo (assuming you have access to a machine running the appropriate software), we will only be testing the assignments in the Zoo environment, so you run the risk of having them not work unless you test them there as well.
Send me email. My address is <aspnes@cs.yale.edu>. Your email should include:
- Your name.
- Your status (e.g. undergraduate, graduate student, auditor, etc.)
Whether or not you have previously taken a class using Grade-o-Matic.
If you plan to work in a group: Send me an additional email CC'd to your partner letting me know who is in the group. Most of the assignments are designed to be completed by two-person groups, with both partners receiving the same grade for the assignment. If you would prefer to work alone, that is an option, but you will still need to complete the same assignments. If you would like help finding a partner, let us know and we'll try to match you up.
The purpose of this email is twofold: we will use your information to set up an account in Grade-o-Matic (so we can assign you grades) and to give you access to the course Subversion repository at http://pine.cs.yale.edu/422 (so you can obtain initial files for your projects and submit the final results). You should receive an automated email in a day or two that contains your username and password for both systems.
