JULY & AUGUST, 2004:
All sorts of excellent summer fun to report for these two months!
Plenty of people have made the trek to Cheshire this season: both Sarahs (Dr. Sarah and Hannah's-mama-Sarah), the latter not surprisingly accompanied by the always-delightful Hannah, plus the Warfritzes and the Foleys. We love company!
And we've done our share of traveling as well: to Nana and Blabla's, to the annual New Hampshire barbeque extravaganza, to the Hayes cousins' houses for birthday partying and farm-visiting, to the Cape with Gramma and Grampa and then back down to Nana's for cousin Jay's wedding.

Never a dull moment!

Happy birthday to me! I am two whole years old!	I am a girl that knows how to enjoy cake.	Taking a little catnap on the family room floor.	Mmmm, dreaming of milk!
Fourth of July brings a visit from my also-very-stripey girlfriend Sarah!	Oh yeah, that's good nappin'!	I am the picture of relaxation!	Oooh! It's my daddy! Hi, Daddy!
Modeling my pretty unicorn dress, a present from Aunt Ferne and Aunt Ann.	Hanging out in cool comfort on Nana's porch!	Time for my second 2nd birthday party!	You can call me Mirin Antoinette. My motto: "Let me eat cake!"
It wasn't just cake; there was a bunch of drinking at my party.	Blabla shows me how to pick tomatoes.	Hmmm, I guess some good things do grow on trees!	Ooh! I got another one!
I'm a little tomato-pickin' fool!	I pose with Nana's pretty roses.	Flowers, shmowers. There's all sorts of cool rocks here!	Aunty Sandy and I explore the exploits of the Tawny Scrawny Lion.
I sleep through my photo shoot with Aunty Sandy.	Nana gave me a new onesie with cool animals on it. See?	I'm never too busy to be admired by my pretty cousin Steph.	We all win! Mirin gets a nifty new shape-sorter toy and Rowan gets another snuggle!
One short, dark and handsome gentleman and three blonde cuties1	Daddy serves up some tasty finger du jour!	D'oh! A deer! A female deer!	...and her two little friends. More wildlife fun in our backyard1
...and yet another little dear!	If Mother Nature had wanted me to hang out on my tummy, wouldn't she have put it on my back?	Raise the roof! Raise the roof!	Gotta master this holding my head up thang.
Sitting pretty in the vibra-chair.	Oh. Hello!	Whoa! She got me! I didn't even see that coming!	Some day, and that day may never come, I will call upon you to do a service for me. And it might have to do with diapers...
Here's Daddy giving me my first ever bottle. I sure do look like a baby who'll take a bottle with no trouble, don't I? Heh heh heh.	This easel was my birthday present. I love it!	We paid a visit to our cousins' farm. Here I am with Sam, Dorothy and one of the kitties.	Hey look! Another kitty!
This kitty really wanted to get into my carseat with me. What can I say, I'm a snugglebug!	Dogs and goats and cousins, oh my!	Oh yeah, I've got 'em eating out of the palm of my hand.	Hey! This kid is just my size!
Wow, cows are bigger than you might expect.	Okay, that's better.	Whee! A kiss!	Animaltastic!
A bunch of ducks with somewhere to go.	And one big old pig.	One of the baby goats hanging out on the old barn foundation.	Two of the mama goats.
Then it's on to Aunt Freda's and Uncle Roger's to celebrate the summer birthdays. My cousin Seth played with this toys when he was little, so he shows me the ropes.	I get up close and personal with Dorothy.	Hey, one of the summer birthdays is me! Time for another cake!	Seth is good at the whole reading-words thing, so he helps me figure out who I should thank.
...but when it comes to ripping open paper, I'm already an expert!	I got a cool purple bathrobe! I put it on and make a break for it before any of the cousins can snag it for themselves.	Not one to play favorites, I enjoy a little time with Nancy as well.	Here I am, sleeping in the position commonly referred to as "treefrogging" in our house.
I'm one happy little treefrog!	Oooh! I'm clean as a whistle!	I'm starting to learn to smile!	What's going on over there, anyway? Oh, it's just the carpet.
Crazyface baby!	Little Mr. Sillymouth.	Whoa! I'm being airlifted!	Sarah and Hannah come down for a visit. As I always say, "Mi tubby es su tubby!"
Neener neener, Hannah's getting rinsed!	I jump on the rinsing bandwagon.	Ooop, hold on, you missed a spot.	Let's see if holding my head up gets any easier if I'm not weighed down by clothes...
Hmmm. It's not any easier, but it is more fun!	For a kid who's in the 95th percentile for weight, I sure have a skinny little butt!	New playscape! New playscape!	Oooh oooh oooh! NEW PLAYSCAPE!!
Checking the slide for optimum slidality. Yep, it's slidy all right!	My fellow Americans! This is a playscape that will live in infamy...	Preparing to slide.	I'm about as cute as they come!
Mike, Arwen and Braedon visit, and the boys join me for one of my favorite books.	Here's a joke for you: How many PhD's does it take to fill an easily-collapsable kiddy pool? Please call us if you know the answer.	Victory! The pool is now filled with refreshing 33-degree well water!	Hey, this teamwork thing really has a lot going for it!
Out for a walk in the rain!	Everybody was kung-fu fighting... well, at least I was.	We acquire a new pool with a significantly lower start-up time requirement.	Oh yes, that's chilly water!
A solemn moment at home.	A bit of milk, some time in the jiggly chair and I nod off for a wee nap.	I do enjoy a nice nap every now and again.	We head to Glaze, our very cool local paint-your-own-pottery place and I get to work on Nana's birthday present.
I hope this is coming out okay. Nana has very high standards!	Ah, piled-up magazines. The seat of champions!	Toward the end, I begin two-fisting the paintbrushes.	Don't turn any more pages, Katherine! There is a monster at the end of this book!
Jeff went to school with Daddy. He can read this whole book with no trouble at all!	Getting a little support and a lot of love from Katherine.	She kissed me! Yeah, I'm da man.	Did I mention that this pool was my birthday present from Grampa and Gramma? That's why I like to wear my birthday suit when I use it!
I put a lot of water in the pool, but you can still see the bottom.	Pool time is happy time!	I'm really getting the hang of smiling now!	I'm doing it again!
Even a happy guy like me has to try out his frowny face now and then, just to make sure it's still working.	Here's lookin' at you, kid!	Hey, please don't take a fence!	Tee hee!
Boogeta-boogeta-boogeta!	On Nauset Beach, Gramma Louise helps me make a sandcastle.	The day was cloudy but we were undeterred!	Looking out to sea.
I'm like a 1940's movie star, except for the part where I keep dropping sand on myself.	Wearing my jammies on the beach!	What sort of crazy place is this?	Grampa Jimmy and I at Coast Guard Beach.
I'm a little mermaid!	Feeling the sand between my piggies!	Daddy and I looking for nifty pebbles and shells.	We found a little baby starfish! Here she is, in my hand!
We put her back in her ocean after we took this picture. Bye-bye, little friend!	A warmer day on the beach, and I'm upgraded to my short-sleeved jammies!	I'm a little shadebather!	The starfish was cool, but didn't compare to these two tiny boys I captured in my bucket!
My godmother Ab is such a soothing presence!	We pay a visit to Vickie. She's the midwife who helped Rowan be born!	We're all pretty happy with how it turned out!	Hi, Vickie! Thanks for helping me out!
Our meeting of the Mutual Admiration Society will now come to order...	If you're thinking of being born, I highly recommend the nice ladies at Birth & Beyond! They're the greatest!	Off to Cousin Jay's wedding! What a nice looking bunch!	Happy day!
And here's the whole gang...	Uh-oh. Grampa Lar is in trouble for something.	I fell asleep right in the middle of having tea.	A quick kiss on the old gym-mat.
Phooey to you!	We check out the Treadwell Street playground in Hamden.	I am proficient at the pirate ladder. Arrr!	Blub blub blub! Kid in a fishbowl!
All I need is a tiny leather jacket and I'm ready to go!	We love the bouncy seesaw!	Hey, us too!	A bit more quality sibling time.
Whoa! Incoming!	We've got some snuggling to do. See you next month!
