It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. Okay, not the worst, but the occasionally yucky times.
I had a nasty stomach flu for more than a week in March, made more tricky by the fact that it was right before we all had to head up to Boston for Otherworld's big Fortunetide Ball. Mama and Daddy each caught it after me, although it didn't last as long for them. And then in April, Mama managed to get poison ivy on both arms and legs bad enough that it took three weeks and some scary medicine to get rid of it. Plus two separate colds for me! Bleah!
Those were the low points, but there was lots of good stuff, too. I got to spend my first overnight visit with Nana and Grampa without Mama and Daddy there with me. We sent them away to a boring hotel so that we could have some real fun on our own. Woohoo!
Right after we all returned home, on March 15th, I said my first two words together. I walked over to Mama's tummy and said "Hello, Baby!" From that time on, I've been putting phrases and sentences together with greater ease. It's fun to talk!
Our major work on our yard continues. Grampa Jimmy's friend Dean has a Bobcat which he generously brought to our house to help us out. I was expecting it to be more like a cat, but I was still pretty excited when I saw that it could lift big rocks.
Add all this to the fun we all had at Fortunetide, a trip to Nana's for cousin Cheryl's bridal shower, and two visits from the Easter Bunny... like I said, there was tons of fun to be had!
All this hasn't left much spare time for me, but I did manage to acquire a Fisher-Price doctor's kit which I've been practicing intensely with. I take it with me on all our visits to the midwives, and I'm always happy to help them out. Happy Spring, everybody!
