The best software application to create a poster for output to the DesignJet 800ps is Microsoft PowerPoint. We don't advise folks to send jobs to this printer unless they are in AKW 001.
Create a single-slide presentation of large dimensions using powerpoint.
1. Start PowerPoint and open a new presentation.
The paper being used for posters is 24in wide. Set your presentation size to Custom/24in wide/24in high.
Click on F ile ? Page Set u p... and set your presentation size to Custom/24in wide/24in high.
When you are done creating your poster. Copy your powerpoint doc onto the windows share on stove.cs.yale.edu. This share was created just for the poster project.
Click on Start, Run, \\stove.cs.yale.edu\submit
This will open up the share window. Drag your file to this window.
Printing your poster:
Come down to AKW 001 and log in to stove.cs.yale.edu using your Yale Netid and Password.
Click on Start, Select My Computer, Local Disk (C:), Submit
Double-click on your doc to open it. You may be asked for:
Check to see if your page is set up properly:
Select File, Page Setup - check your settings:
Select File, Print Preview - select Option "Scale to Fit Paper":
Select Print, Print Properties - use Ansi C 17x 22 in paper
