C2 research is directed to developing new theory, algorithms, techniques, and software systems in computer science, and new methods and insights in the arts. In computer science, example results include new algorithms for computer graphics, new techniques for representing objects digitally, and new programming languages for expressing music composition. The pervasive interaction between artists and computer scientists continually opens new areas of inquiry.
